Volunteering at Gloucester and District CAB
Volunteering with the CAB is a great way to acquire skills, make new friends and feel part of an enthusiastic team. In 2015 Citizens Advice helped 2.1 million people across the UK with 5.5 million problems. Volunteering is not just worthwhile, it can also be great fun and hugely rewarding.
Out of the 28,500 people who work for the service nationally, 21,500 of these are volunteers and we wouldn’t be able to help clients without them. Volunteers carry out a range of essential roles from giving advice to fundraising, IT, administration, publicity, campaigning and trusteeship. At the Gloucester district CAB we have around 150 volunteers at the present time.
Our guiding principles are to “value diversity, promote
equality and challenge discrimination.” We know that it is only by recruiting
and retaining diverse staff and volunteers that we can successfully adhere to
these principles. We are committed to equality of opportunity in recruitment
and training and offer a warm welcome to each and every volunteer, whatever
